For nearly 15 years, I've been incredibly proud to call Steve Brand a friend, one of the finest and most genuine men I've ever known. For those same 15 years, I've also been a huge fan of his work. Steve's music defies categorization - it cannot be neatly tucked into a sub-genre of ambient. It is not space, or dark or tribal or any of the labels we use to conveniently catalog music. Steve's sound is entirely his own, and comes from a deeply rooted sense of self and a willingness to explore the avenues his art opens.
In Steve's own words:
'fruit of the fall,” a peaceful 64-minute slowly evolving atmosphere of synth textures, field recordings, kalimba, voice and oud, is a major overhaul and re-imagining of my 2014 release, “fruit of the spring” (based on a shorter track by the same name) from my album “second spring.”
fall, or autumn, in north america is celebrated as a time of year when harvests mature, are gathered, stored and relished. it’s also a phase when the life that had once filled the world now becomes dormant and prepares to fuel new life in the coming new year. now we look deeply into these changes and our thoughts and feelings become more inward facing.
I have had some very satisfying moments in the years I've been releasing music, both here and on earthMANTRA. Very few approach the joy I feel in having one of my favorite artists and very best friends gift my label with his work.
Please enjoy.

Sorry I'm out of superlatives for Steve's work. I'm not technical but I just love the sound he creates. Raises the bar once again. It's like when you get one of those Terry's Chocolate Oranges and eat the whole thing in one sitting..magic. Robert Wallace
